HGV Technician

Location: Salford

We are working with a reputable commercial vehicle rental specialist in Salford, seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their team. This position offers excellent earning potential, structured career development, and long-term stability within a nationwide company.

Up to £42,700 basic salary with realistic OTE of £61,000 including profit share and annual pay rises
Alternating shifts:
Week 1 (07:00–15:30) and Week 2 (12:30–21:00)
Paid time-and-a-half and double time for working 1 in 3 Saturdays (08:00–12:00)
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays

Duties of the HGV Technician:

Conduct routine servicing and inspections adhering to manufacturer standards
Perform vehicle testing in a safe, professional manner
Diagnose faults accurately and produce detailed reports
Carry out repairs on a wide range of HGVs and associated equipment
Maintain high safety and quality standards in all work undertaken

Requirements of the HGV Technician:

NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in HGV Mechanics or equivalent; or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Strong diagnostic and repair skills as a HGV Technician

Experience with cranes, hydraulics, tippers, or beaver tails is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of quality
Full UK driving licence
