Job Description & How to Apply Below
Youll be joining a close-knit, supportive business where people are valued and there is genuine opportunity to progress. The role would suit an experienced residential AV or home automation engineer looking to develop further into commissioning, site delivery and project ownership. Description
Key Responsibilities Install, terminate and test structured cabling for AV, data, control, lighting and security systems. Build, wire and dress professional equipment racks. Install displays, speakers, projectors, touch panels, keypads, wireless access points, cameras and associated equipment. Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks, including IP addressing and VLANs. Support the programming, configuration and commissioning of integrated smart home systems. Work with technologies including Control4 and Lutron.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues across new and existing installations. Maintain a high standard of workmanship within high-end residential properties. Liaise professionally with clients, project teams and other trades onsite. Take increasing responsibility for site activity, snagging, commissioning and handover. Experience Required Previous experience within residential AV, smart home, home automation or a closely related installation environment. Practical knowledge of Control4 and Lutron is highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of IP networking, Wi-Fi, structured cabling and fault-finding.
Experience with AV distribution, multi-room audio, home cinema, displays, equipment racks and system commissioning would also be beneficial. You should be comfortable working independently, have strong attention to detail and be professional when working within clients' homes. A full UK driving licence is required due to the field-based nature of the position. Package £40,000 £ 50,000 depending on experience, plus company vehicle, paid overtime opportunities, holiday entitlement, workplace pension and ongoing technical and manufacturer training.
The position offers exposure to varied high-end residential projects and a clear opportunity to progress towards commissioning, site leadership and greater responsibility for complete project delivery. This is a full-time position based in Hertfordshire, with regular travel to project sites across Essex, Hertfordshire and London.
