Position: Security Systems Small Works Engineer

You will be required to work on the supply, fit and commission of electronic security systems; IP CCTV, Intruder Alarm and Access Control to NSI Gold Standards. The candidate must have a high degree of reliability, self-motivation and an ability to fault find and provide solutions on site. Candidates must be organised and able to submit the required paperwork in a timely manner.

40 hours p/w with overtime and on-call available

Typical Responsibilities
  • To work with and under instruction from Security Administration Team Members, complying with work instructions, company policies and Health and Safety procedures.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of circuits and measuring devices and an understanding and respect of electrical circuits as well as undertaking training courses where necessary.
  • The installation and commission of new Security and associated systems as well as additions to existing systems
  • Maintain an accurate and high standard of Customer, Company and Personal paperwork.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role.
Qualifications
  • A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC etc
Experience
  • Experience of working within the Security sector.
  • A working knowledge of electrical circuits & measuring devices.
  • Experience of installing Security and associated systems.
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
Skills / Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records whilst regularly submitting customer and company paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company.
Other
  • A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular National Security Inspectorate requirements.
  • A genuine interest in your work with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • A full and valid driving licence.
