CPCS Gantry Crane Operator

Sphere Solutions are looking for a CPCS Gantry Crane Operative for our clients construction site in Salford. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations, adherence to safety standards, and timely delivery of materials essential for project success. • Operate CPCS-certified gantry cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads with precision and safety.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane, including checking mechanical systems, safety devices, and load capacities.
• Coordinate with site managers and other team members to ensure seamless material handling and transportation workflows.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to crane operation, materials handling, and construction site procedures.
• Assist with shipping & receiving tasks by loading and unloading materials from trucks or containers as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs of crane operations, load details, and safety inspections for compliance purposes.
• Support warehouse activities by handling materials efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required.

• Strong mechanical knowledge related to crane systems, forklifts, excavators, and general construction equipment.
• Proven experience operating gantry cranes in construction or warehouse environments.
• Valid CPCS certification. A64 operating a Gantry Crane.
• Ability to work safely in a busy construction setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site personnel.
• Prior experience in construction projects or warehouse environments is highly desirable
