Sales Associate

Overview

Talbots seeks a Part‑time Associate to provide exceptional customer service and support sales efforts in its Manchester, VT store. The role involves creating outfits, managing multiple customers, and meeting sales and service metrics.

• Provide an exceptional and meaningful customer service experience that promotes the product and builds brand relationships.
• Assume an active role in assisting the management team to build store business.
• Support all service enhancers to build strong relationships, including active use of Concierge.
• Serve multiple customers at a time, multitask and/or handle projects simultaneously.
• Stay aware of fashion trends and seek information about new arrivals with product knowledge of fit, color, and style.
• Use product knowledge and fashion expertise to create outfits for customers and suggest items to match their needs.
• Maximize individual performance by participating in learning opportunities, accepting direction, coaching and feedback.
• Achieve sales and service metrics in key measurable areas including clienteling/outreach, appointment setting, and Talbots Classic Awards.
• Complete projects as assigned including operational assignments such as filling orders, replenishment and recovery.

• Demonstrate selling competence, styling expertise, and passion for fashion.
• Driven to create, build and cultivate relationships; thrive in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and high integrity.
• Technologically competent to navigate a computer, iPad or handheld system.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment.
• Can work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
• Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Capable of bending, reaching, stretching and lifting or carrying items up to 40 lbs.
• Open availability of 15 to 20 hours per week; flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Regular/Part time. Pay range: $14.42 – $18.00 per hour (USD).
