Mandan Public Schools is currently seeking a School Counselor. The Mandan Public School Counseling Program promotes the development of productive and responsible citizens by ensuring the academic, career, and personal/social growth of all students. In partnership with parents and school personnel, the counseling program provides programs and services to enhance the educational process of all students.

• Provide short‑term individual counseling to students.
• Assist students with curriculum, career, and scholarship opportunities.
• Lead small group counseling sessions for students for social and emotional concerns as needed.
• Guide each student to choose courses consistent with their interests, abilities, and career plans.
• Consult with parents and teachers regarding a student's social, emotional, academic, or behavioral concerns.
• Help students develop post‑secondary educational, military or workforce plans.
• Refer students and parents to community agencies and services for extra help and support.
• Consult with and serve as a resource for students, staff and parents regarding planning or promoting programs which enhance the academic, social, or emotional growth of students.
• Support additional needs of the school and other duties as assigned.

• School Principal

• Must hold appropriate certification in School Counseling from the ND Department of Public Instruction and a teaching license from the ND Education and Practice Board. Additional training and certifications may be required for some incumbents.
