MANAGING DIRECTOR – TECHNOLOGY & SOFTWARE INVESTMENT BANKING

Position Overview

Dresner Partners is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial Managing Director specializing in Technology and Software to expand our middle-market investment banking practice. This professional will be responsible for originating and leading M&A advisory and capital raising transactions for software and technology companies across the middle market.

The ideal candidate will bring deep relationships across the technology ecosystem
, including private equity firms, founder-owned software companies, and strategic acquirers. This Managing Director will possess strong business development skills, a proven track record of closing transactions, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities Deal Execution Responsibilities
  • Lead deal teams on a variety of M&A advisory and capital raising transactions within the technology and software sectors
    , from initial client pitch to transaction closing.
  • Serve as the primary client contact
    , managing day‑to‑day aspects of client relationships and transaction execution.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all phases of transactions including financial analysis, valuation, buyer outreach, negotiations, and closing.
  • Communicate financial and strategic issues clearly and effectively to executives and stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
  • Ensure high‑quality client deliverables and maintain the firm’s standards for excellence in execution.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to junior banking staff.
Business Development Responsibilities
  • Actively pursue business development opportunities and originate new client engagements within the technology and software sectors
    .
  • Leverage an established network of software executives, private equity investors, venture capital firms, and strategic buyers to generate deal flow.
  • Develop and maintain strong prospect and referral networks within the technology ecosystem.
  • Support firm‑wide marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Represent the firm at technology industry conferences, events, speaking engagements, and media opportunities to generate exposure and promote Dresner Partners.
Desired Skills and Experience Experience and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of investment banking experience
    , preferably at a boutique or middle‑market investment bank.
  • Demonstrated success originating and closing M&A advisory and capital raising transactions in the technology/software sector
    .
  • Deep knowledge of the software and technology industry
    , including SaaS business models, valuation dynamics, and sector trends.
  • Established relationships with private equity firms, strategic buyers, venture capital firms, and technology executives
    .
  • Strong understanding of the capital markets, transaction structures, financing alternatives, and valuation methodologies
    .
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client relationships and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience managing investment banking teams.
  • FINRA Series 7 or 79 required as is a Series 63
  • Willingness to travel.
