Responsibilities
  • Administers the monthly activity calendar, ensuring it is well organized and upbeat.
  • Regularly elicits patients’ and residents’ input into activity planning.
  • Participates in music, craft, spiritual, and other state-required activities, supporting resident functioning and maintaining dignity.
  • Assists with simple nursing procedures and with transporting patients/residents to and from rooms.
  • Assists with Minimum Data Set documentation and EPIC documentation.
  • Displays creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions under close supervision.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibits leadership abilities to develop and motivate people and helps manage strong‑willed or behaviorally challenged residents.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities, works autonomously, and plans resource utilization and work processes.
  • Provides activities on a one‑to‑one and/or group basis to improve quality of life.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience in social services or creative activities (preferred).
  • Experience in geriatrics (preferred).
  • Knowledge of working with a wide variety of resident demographics.
  • Preferred current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification or enrollment in a healthcare‑related program.
  • BLS required based on location; all new employees will attend CPR training and must be certified within six months of hire.
  • Required to obtain and maintain department‑specific competencies and certifications.
  • If applicable, must meet Sanford Category I or II Driver requirements, including a motor vehicle report and proof of a valid driver’s license, and be medically qualified under Sanford Driving Policy.
