Maintenance Technician
Our client company is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment, facilities, and tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and technical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance. Schedule:
Must be flexible, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
- Learn set-up, operation, adjustments, and operating parameters of production equipment.
- Safety must always be a priority, must remedy any unsafe conditions as quickly as possible.
- Assess maintenance and repair problems with follow-up.
- Repair equipment when breakdowns occur to maintain production, and perform plumbing and electrical work as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong communication with machine operators, department supervisors, and managers.
- Facilitate implementation of preventive maintenance schedule for production equipment & machinery.
- Build spare parts stock for normal wear items.
- Paint any areas and as necessary and repair aesthetic defects such as seals, hinges, hangers, etc., as production schedule allows.
- Develop a daily walk-through routine to identify and document potential problems or issues.
- Be on call, as needed. Serve as a role model in projecting and applying company policies and departmental SOPs, and promote a teamwork environment at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three years of experience in electrical work (single-phase, 3-phase, programming), refrigeration, welding, fabrication, forklift operation, or general building maintenance.
- Experience in Process Improvement and Best Practices.
- Industrial Refrigeration Certification is a plus.
- Food processing industry experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’ s License.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- 96% of work conducted in production areas with exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, humidity, and wet conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Exposure to food allergens in ingredients or finished products.
Strong communication skills required (phone, email, face-to-face, video conferencing). Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour. Experience:
Industrial maintenance: 2 years (Preferred), Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred), Equipment repair: 2 years (Preferred).
