About

The Role

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will drive new business growth and ensure customer success in your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong relationships, and meet ambitious growth targets while representing Halter on the ground. Your focus will balance expansion and long‑term client satisfaction, sharing field insights with Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding teams.

What Your Day Could Look Like
  • Prospecting New Business:
    Attend local cattle auctions, meet livestock associations, and build a pipeline through outbound lead generation. Respond to inbound leads promptly and prioritize admin tasks.
  • In‑Field Sales:
    Meet customers while riding horses or side‑by‑side trailers, discuss how Halter benefits their pastures, and visit farms during calving season.
  • Expanding Existing Opportunities:
    Identify ways to increase value for customers who do not collar all their livestock.
  • Hitting Sales Targets:
    Manage your pipeline to reach high‑growth targets, unqualify leads effectively, and maintain a focus on new deals.
  • Customer Account Management:
    Strengthen post‑sale relationships, support ongoing satisfaction, and transition accounts to onboarding and deployment teams.
  • Territory Ownership:
    Own the entire territory, visit local, state, and federal agencies, and build lasting relationships with regional agricultural groups.
  • Customer Onboarding:
    Ensure a seamless transition from sales to implementation, oversee end‑to‑end onboarding, and maintain customer experience quality.
  • Field Learnings & Feedback:
    Gather customer feedback as the primary contact and advocate for their needs.
  • Collaboration with Support Teams:
    Partner across Halter to resolve any issues quickly and ensure full support for customers.
  • Attending Industry Events:
    Use relevant industry and Halter events to generate leads and deepen existing relationships.
  • Contributing to the US Sales Strategy:
    Work with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.

  • Driven Attitude & Communication

    Skills:

    Results‑driven, motivated, and adaptable in high‑stakes environments, with strong communication skills internally and externally.
  • Ranching / Cattle

    Experience:

    Knowledge of ranching or cattle operations, enabling meaningful conversations with customers.
  • Sales & Customer Success Expertise:
    Proven record creating new business, negotiating value‑based sales, and building long‑term relationships.
  • Territory Management

    Experience:

    Managing a large territory with a balance of sales and customer success, preferably in agriculture or technology.
  • Problem‑Solving & Collaboration Ability:
    Resourceful, quick‑thinking, and effective across cross‑functional teams.
  • Willingness to Travel:
    Frequent travel within the territory to engage customers and prospects.

  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Background in selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.
