We are seeking a driven Account Manager to join our growing team within the petroleum industry. This role is primarily focused on new business development and territory growth, with additional responsibility for expanding relationships and revenue within existing accounts.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, relationship-oriented sales professional who enjoys prospecting, building new customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and developing long-term partnerships. This is a highly field-oriented position requiring approximately 50% travel, including overnight travel, throughout the assigned territory.
The position offers a competitive base salary, quarterly bonus opportunities, and annual bonus potential, providing significant earning potential for a successful sales professional.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a territory strategy focused on new customer acquisition and revenue growth
- Prospect, identify, and develop relationships with new customers across the petroleum, fuel, and energy markets
- Conduct outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, customer visits, and other business development activities
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and relationship development through negotiation, closing, and implementation
- Build relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within customer organizations
- Identify opportunities to expand products and services within existing accounts
- Maintain strong relationships with current customers while continuously looking for opportunities for account growth
- Conduct regular in-person customer visits, site visits, and sales presentations
- Understand customer operations and business needs and recommend appropriate products and services
- Prepare proposals, pricing, presentations, and sales forecasts
- Maintain accurate customer, prospect, pipeline, and activity information within CRM
- Collaborate with internal operations, customer service, and leadership teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends to identify new opportunities
- Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales, revenue, and business development goals
- 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, account management, territory sales, or business development
- Experience with in the petroleum, fuel, energy, industrial, transportation, or related industries strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in hunting and developing new business
- Proven ability to prospect, generate leads, and build relationships with new customers
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable managing a geographic territory and working independently
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and identify revenue opportunities
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel approximately 50%, including overnight travel
