Security Officer

Summary Of Work

This is a hybrid overnight and daytime security position. The work hours are 10:00pm-6:00am for the first two shifts of the week, then the last three are day shifts: 2-10pm, 1-9pm or 7-5pm, depending on need. Workdays rotate on a monthly basis. Position salary starts at $4,589.87 per month.

Duties include:

• Protection of institutional property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
• Observation checks of residents and counts of residents. Documentation of observation checks.

Requires a high school diploma/GED and two years of training or experience in law enforcement or security operations; or two years of college. Must have a valid Class D drivers license. Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to work with staff and supervise juveniles, and communication skills to express ideas clearly and concisely. Job responsibilities require walking, standing, bending and moving or lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must demonstrate experience/skills and abilities to meet qualifications to perform duties on the job. Must successfully complete an interview, standard background and criminal background check.
