Senior AI Software Engineer

Fully Remote in the United States -- Preference for Central and Eastern Time Zones

As an Senior AI Software Engineer, you’ll join a dynamic, full-stack engineering team responsible for designing and scaling AI-enabled applications and services. This role sits within a high-performing group that builds end-to-end software around core learning products, integrating foundation models, generative AI tools, and platform-level AI services. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and fellow AI engineers, to create reliable, production-ready AI systems that support multiple business units across the organization.

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered applications and platform services that can be leveraged across multiple product lines.
• Build scalable, cloud-native solutions that integrate LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
• Partner with data scientists and product teams to implement features such as intelligent chatbots and interactive tools that help learners engage with educational content.
• Contribute across the full stack—40% frontend (Angular) and 60% backend (Python, Node, or Go)—including infrastructure, performance, and functional testing.
• Optimize Python-based systems for performance and scalability in production environments.
• Participate in design reviews, standups, and code reviews, leading smaller initiatives or pods where needed.

• Strong full-stack engineering background with experience in Python and Node.js or Go, and Angular.
• 4+ years of industry experience within Software Engineering/ AI.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (Bedrock, Lambda, S3, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Solid understanding of LLM integration, RAG architectures, and vector databases.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as Lang Chain, Lang Graph, or similar orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with observability and performance tools.
• Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions and think beyond coding to overall system design and scalability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• This is a remote role open to candidates in the United States, with a preference for those working Eastern or Central Time.
