Title: Medical Records Tech
Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday-Friday
Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Technician to manage and maintain patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. This role supports chart analysis, coding, release of information, and departmental operations under the guidance of the Health Information Director.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble, organize, and analyze patient charts
- Enter diagnosis codes and assist with coding functions
- Process release of information requests and legal documentation
- Scan, file, and maintain medical records and departmental forms
- Assist with audits, studies, and departmental reporting
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and maintain confidentiality
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in a medical records department; psychiatric experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and DSM V
- Strong organizational, computer, and clerical skills
- Commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and accuracy
