Hospice Registered Nurse (RN)- PRN in Metairie, Kenner, Luling, Lakeview, New Orleans, Chalmette, Mandeville, Covington, and Slidell, Louisiana.
As a PRN Hospice Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in the place they call home, supporting them through one of life's most meaningful and vulnerable journeys. In this flexible role, you will deliver skilled nursing care, manage symptoms, and offer comfort and emotional support to patients and their families—ensuring every individual experiences dignity, peace, and respect at the end of life.
You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team while having the autonomy to make a truly personal impact with each visit.
- Salary: $38.00–$40.00 per hour

PRN visits available - 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratios

- Provide home-based care to patients with a prognosis of six months or less to live, focused on quality of life
- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team comprised of a physician, LPN, CNA, HHA, social worker, chaplain and volunteers to carry out the patient’s plan of care
- Perform patient assessments, check vitals, evaluate breathing, monitor pain, administer prescribed medication and treatments
- Ensure accessibility of medical equipment, prescribed oxygen, medication and other supplies
- Educate family on the patient’s prognosis, changes in care plan, medication and hospice goals
- Take a holistic approach to care that engages the patient’s mind, body, spirit and family
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of hospice nursing experience
- CPR certification
- Valid Louisiana driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
- Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
- Clinical proficiency in nursing specialty, strong communication skills and compassion
