Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
The Industrial Technician Lead is responsible for leading and executing industrial battery installation projects in mission‑critical power environments. This role serves as the on‑site technical lead, ensuring installations are completed safely, correctly, on schedule, and in compliance with Exponential Power standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes/requirements. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to coordinate crews, customers, and project requirements in high‑risk, high‑reliability environments.
AREASOF RESPONSIBILITY
- Lead and verify all battery installation activities to ensure compliance with Exponential Power standards, customer requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform and document installation quality checks including torque verification, polarity verification, spacing, labeling, and final inspections.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved MOPs and project documentation.

- Serve as the primary technical point of contact on installation projects.
- Troubleshoot installation issues in real time and coordinate with engineering, project management, or management as required.
- Support commissioning and handoff activities following installation completion.
- Represent Exponential Power professionally on customer sites at all times.
- Communicate clearly with customer representatives regarding scope, progress, and safety considerations.
- Address customer concerns promptly and escalate issues appropriately.
- Lead installation crews by example, setting expectations for safety, quality, and professionalism.
- Coordinate daily work activities, task assignments, and job pacing.
- Foster a teamwork‑oriented environment focused on safe and efficient execution.
- Mentor and train apprentice and junior technicians on proper battery installation techniques and safety practices.
- Reinforce adherence to procedures, MOPs, and company standards.
- Assist with on‑the‑job training and skills development.
- Provides performance that is reliable and consistent.
- Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through.
- Ensures proper attendance, communication, and handoff when absent.
- Abides by all Exponential Power policies and procedures.
Maintains professional attire and demeanor at all times.
EXPERIENCEPrior experience leading installation crews or acting as a site lead strongly preferred.
Experience working in live power environments, controlled shutdowns, and mission‑critical facilities
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGEBattery systems including VRLA, Flooded lead‑acid, NiCd and lithium based systems
DC power systems :
Series and Parallel Circuits
Strong understanding of safety requirements including lockout/tagout, arc flash, and PPE
Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, method of procedure (MOP) and scope documents.
Computer
