Controller Opportunity
Our client, a growing and well-capitalized private equity investment firm, is seeking a hands-on Controller to build and scale the accounting function for its management company. This is a newly created role, reporting to the VP of Finance and driven by the firm's continued growth. You will take ownership of the management company and general partner books, establish clean processes and controls, and help transition the firm's corporate accounting in-house from its third-party fund administrator — with unusually broad exposure and a clear path to expand your scope as you build a strong foundation.
Key Responsibilities• Own day-to-day accounting for the management company and general partner entities.
• Accurately record management-company revenue, including management fees, fee offsets, transaction fees, and monitoring fees.
• Build out an integrated trial balance and strengthen the monthly close, budgets, and budget-to-actual-to-forecast reporting.
• Establish and maintain a compliance and hygiene framework for lender covenant requirements.
• Help lead the transition to a more robust ERP platform.
• Bring processes currently handled by a third-party fund administrator in-house over time.
• Partner closely with the CFO and VP of Finance as a key member of a lean, high-caliber finance team.

Qualifications• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Private equity and management-company accounting experience.
• Comfort with detailed, hands-on work and building process from the ground up.
• Strong technical accounting skills and the ability to operate independently in a lean environment.
