Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Radiology Reception Assistant (Administrative Assistant III), you’ll play an essential role in creating a positive, seamless experience for our patients from the moment they arrive. Under the direction of the Radiology Patient Support Services Supervisor, you’ll provide critical administrative and patient-facing support for the Department of Radiological Sciences in a fast-paced clinical environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Welcome and register patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient arrival experience.
  • Obtain and verify clinical information needed for scheduled exams.
  • Collect and process cash, insurance, and authorization information.
  • Communicate with referring physicians and clinical teams regarding outpatient patient needs and exam-related matters.
  • Perform scheduling duties and assist with coordinating patient appointments.
  • Provide a variety of administrative support to help keep Radiology operations running efficiently.
  • Rotate between Radiology areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support different teams and patient populations.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, patient-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Administrative Assistant III demonstrates strong multitasking skills, professionalism, and the ability to quickly adjust to the changing needs of Radiology while providing exceptional service to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues.

Salary Range: $30.36 - $43.89/Hourly

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with staff, faculty, fellows, residents and patients.
  • Ability to establish comfortable relationships with patients and their family members.
  • Ability to independently make decisions in the absence of superiors.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, frequent interruptions, deadlines, emergencies and heavy workload.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal computers and software such as EPIC, Mag View, PACSCUBE CD Burner, Array Digitizer.
  • Skill in typing with accuracy and moderate speed.
  • Ability to use mathematical skills to efficiently analyze various pertinent data related to workload and finance.
  • Medical terminology to a level permitting accurate preparation of scheduling patient procedures interacting with physicians, patients and staff.
  • Basic organizational skills to ensure a workable efficient office including organization schedules, electronic and paper records and files.
  • Skill in analyzing information or situations to define a problem, identify relevant concerns, formulate logical and objective conclusions and alternatives.
  • Ability to handle confidentiality issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to read and write correspondence and reports of a business nature using proper grammar, punctuation and syntax.
  • Basic organization skills to ensure a workable, efficient office operation.
  • Working knowledge of hospital/billing forms and the ability to explain services and charges to patients and/or family.
  • Skill in quickly assimilating and retaining a large body of financial screening and patient registration information.

As a condition of employment the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
