DHH Teacher | Manhattan , California

Empower students to reach their full potential by sharing your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. In this rewarding contract position, you'll work in a supportive school environment close to the vibrant community of Manhattan Beach. You’ll collaborate with dedicated educators and families to create inclusive educational experiences and foster student growth.

• State certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility for certification)
• Background in educational strategies for students with hearing impairments
• Experience with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Comfortable utilizing assistive technology and alternative communication methods (ASL, Cued Speech, etc.)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and advocacy skills

• Deliver engaging instruction adapted to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Assess student progress and adjust strategies to promote learning and independence
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with the education team and families
• Coordinate services and supports, including interpreting or amplification as needed
• Offer expertise and consultation to general education staff regarding accommodations and best practices
• Foster a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere where all students feel included and empowered
