Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for an Engineer Material Process to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

Analyzes, researches, designs and develops materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems. Applies principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes. Develops, analyzes and applies material properties and design allowables, processing processes and quality engineering specifications.

Material analyses may include failure analysis of components, systems and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications. May review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM with 0 years of engineering experience
Familiarity with Part, Material, or Process Qualifications
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and program specific access.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working at a Microelectronics Foundry or next-higher level of integration
Familiarity with Military Standards

Salary Range: $77,100.00 - $

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
