Position

Engineering Manager
2. This position is located in Manhattan Beach, CA and supports the Sentinel Program. It is a dual-hat position requiring functional management activities as well as program responsibilities. Functional Homeroom responsibilities comprise up to 20% of the candidate’s time while 80% of your efforts will focus on technical program support under the Sentinel – Command Systems (CS) Hardware Design Integration team.

Responsibilities
  • Work with program leadership to assess issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality, and program cost/schedule objectives as well as develop and maintain metrics for monitoring the team’s progress.
  • Support earn value tracking and reporting.
  • Control and assign tasking within the group.
  • Participate in technical reviews and ensure quality and applicability of analysis work products.
  • Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of analysts.
  • Interface with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in ROM development, Basis of Estimates, etc., as needed.

The position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80 schedule, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable time.
  • Experience in technical leadership/management role.
  • Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of and experience with engineering analysis principles.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP, MATHCAD, Capital or equivalents.
  • At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Experience with one or more of the following languages: VBA, Python, MATLAB.
  • Strong experience leading teams and training others.
  • Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Operates independently with limited to no supervision.
  • Experience developing and implementing analytic methods to support test, validation, and qualification.
  • Team Center CPLM experience.
  • Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge of JIRA.

Primary Level Salary Range: $ - $. This range is a guideline; actual base salary may vary based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, Long Term Incentives, and additional benefits such as health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off for vacation or personal business.
