Software Engineer - TEST- Security Clearance

The Software Engineer will test software that operates in a resource‑constrained target environment with soft and hard real‑time requirements for various flight, space, and ground systems. The software will typically implement complex data analysis, data routing, and/or control systems algorithms. The candidate will need familiarity with various processors, memory, and I/O architectures and be able to implement both procedural and object‑oriented software in C++.

Candidates will work with real‑time operating systems, such as VxWorks or Linux, and their associated host/development environments and tools. They will design, develop, document, test, and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. They will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product software.

They will determine overall system and user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepare operating instructions; design and develop utility programs. They will ensure software standards are met. Candidates should have academic and work experience in software engineering and development across the full life cycle for automated test sets/test systems on space programs.

Candidates should have experience working in a process‑oriented environment utilizing waterfall, spiral, or agile processes. Candidates should also have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable working on large teams with talented engineering from other engineering disciplines in a lab environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering from an ABET university with minimum 5+ years software development experience
• Must have software development experience in C/C++
• Experience with formal verification processes following TLYF methodology to sell off embedded flight software requirements (functional/performance)
• Prefer a software engineer with full‑time employment experience
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
