Commodity Merchandising Intern, Summer

• Learn commodity merchandising terminology, tools, concepts, and business systems
• Assist with analyzing local, national, and global agricultural markets and evaluating factors influencing commodity prices
• Gain exposure to grain procurement, marketing, trading, transportation, and supply chain activities
• Support merchandisers with customer relationship management, market research, data analysis, and administrative activities
• Develop an understanding of grain and grain product marketing, trading flows, and market fundamentals
• Monitor changing crop, economic, and market conditions and assist with gathering relevant information
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Collaborate with merchandising, operations, logistics, accounting, and customer service teams
• Complete and present a merchandising business proposal focused on a real-world business opportunity

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 0-2 years’ relevant internship, work, leadership, or agricultural experience required
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and influence others
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable evaluating opportunities, making decisions, and taking appropriate risks
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
• Rising junior or senior preferred

Demonstrates strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities while building relationships in the agricultural sector. Proficient in market analysis, data evaluation, and customer relationship management within commodity merchandising.
