Position: Assistant Project Manager (Civil/Geotechnical)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, or Environmental Science highly preferred
  • 0-2+ years of general construction, civil construction, or construction materials testing or inspection experience
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Plusses:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • ACI certification(s) and/or experience with testing and inspection.
  • Familiarity with building enclosures, steel structures, and reading construction plans.
  • KDOT experience
Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our client’s Manhattan, KS office. Join a nationally recognized firm headquartered in the Kansas City area, leading civil construction, construction materials testing and special inspection services across the Topeka and Manhattan region. This role is ideal for a safety-minded, client-focused professional ready to own the full lifecycle of civil construction projects—from proposal to closeout.

80% in office, 20% in the field. Business is mainly university and energy-based clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage construction materials testing and special inspection services.
  • Own project lifecycle: proposals, estimating, safety, execution, and closeout.
  • Interpret and review construction drawings for compliance with plans/specs.
  • Coordinate and supervise field investigations, inspections, and reporting.
  • Prepare and review proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Track project progress, budgets, and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and project teams (technical and non-technical).
  • Identify future project opportunities and maintain client relationships.
  • Supervise and mentor field and junior staff.
