Lead Civil Construction Inspector – Transportation

Olsson provides construction management, administration, and observation services for public and private projects to assure work is performed in conformance with project documents. Our construction services include daily observation/inspection, project documentation, submittal review, design support, shop drawing review, payment application review, payroll review, and oversight for materials testing. We provide technically qualified personnel for our clients’ specific project requirements. As a Construction Manager, you will work on diverse projects including roadways, utility infrastructure, and water/sewer distribution systems, interpreting project specifications and plans across disciplines, inspecting construction work, coordinating schedules, verifying projects are completed per documents, and overseeing projects of varying complexity.

Your collaboration with experienced managers and engineers will drive projects to successful completion, reflecting a commitment to quality in construction management.

You will travel to various job sites at different stages of construction and work in all types of terrain and weather conditions.

We have one position available and will consider candidates located in Western Kansas (Garden City, Dodge City, Hays, Liberal) or Flint Hills region (Manhattan, Junction City, Emporia, Wamego, etc.).

• Interpret project specifications and plans across multiple disciplines.
• Inspect and coordinate construction activities to ensure conformance with project documents.
• Coordinate schedules and manage project progress for various levels of complexity.
• Collaborate with experienced construction managers and engineers to drive projects to successful completion.
• Contribute to the overall excellence and quality of each project through effective construction management.

You bring to the team:

• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or other applicable field.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction observation or construction inspection.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
• OSHA 10 preferred, but not required.
