We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to help strengthen access to healthcare across Kansas. In this role, you’ll support multiple statewide grant programs and initiatives that enhance rural and primary care services. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about improving healthcare access. You’ll manage and support key grants, including the Medicaid Flexibility, Small Hospital Improvement, State Office of Rural Health, and Primary Care Office programs.

This position also develops tools, resources, and training materials to help providers maintain compliance with the State Loan Repayment and J-1 Conrad Visa Waiver Programs. Additionally, you’ll coordinate communications for the Primary Care and Rural Health listservs, assist with stakeholder outreach, and collaborate with partners and providers to ensure programs run efficiently and achieve their goals. Some travel is required for meetings, workshops, and events related to the grant programs you support.

Our agency is led by Secretary Janet Stanek, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Dec 2021. KDHE is comprised of three divisions:
Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, Kan Care). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well-being of all Kansans.

State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP):
Plan and organize the preparation and promotion of State Loan Repayment Program grant application and reporting materials. Process SLRP applications, and track documentation and compliance for providers in the program.
