Substitute School Nurse

Location:

Various school locations throughout Manhattan and Ogden.

Salary: $18.00/hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Hours Per Day:
Early Learning 8:40 - 3:40;
Elementary 8:45 - 3:45;
Secondary 7:40 - 2:50. Times may vary depending on the building assignment. Flexible hours depending on availability. Average workday = 7.5 hours. Terms of Employment:
Positions available during the regular school year.

Promotes the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student in the district by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the district schools. Director of Communications and Safety/Building Principal. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education policy on the evaluation of personnel.

• Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
• Assumes responsibility for the first aid care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or illness.
• Provides health education on an individual basis.
• Visits home of students when necessary or when referred by principals.
• Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
• Advises teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health problems.
• Interprets laws relating to school health.
• Assists school personnel in establishing healthy conditions in schools.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

  Non-Exempt.
