The Director of Assessment provides leadership and manages ongoing projects for the assessment of student learning outcomes in curricular, general education, and co-curricular areas and supports academic program review and accreditation activities for the university. The Director coordinates university-wide assessment initiatives while offering consultative and technical application support to colleges, departments, and programs engaged in learning outcomes assessment, program review, and accreditation processes.
Reporting to associate provost of institutional research and chief data officer in the office of Data, Assessment, and Institutional Research (DAIR) , the Director works closely with leaders in the Academic Affairs and Innovation (VPAAI) division and partners with faculty, academic units, and administrative offices (e.g., Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs-DASSA) and to strengthen a culture that utilizes evidence-based assessment to drive decision-making and continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and academic quality.
Worksite Description
This position is Hybrid eligible.
This role is expected to work on-site approximately three (3) days a week.
All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
* Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and ten years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in education, social sciences, or a related field
* Doctoral degree.
* Demonstrated experience in higher education assessment, program review, and/or accreditation.
* Strong knowledge of assessment of student learning outcomes and continuous improvement practices.
* Experience working collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
* Teaching and research experiences
* Experience at a large, complex, or research-intensive university.
* Familiarity with regional and specialized accreditation standards.
* Experience with assessment management systems, databases, and data visualization tools.
