Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An educational opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support an elementary caseload on a full-time basis. This role is based in the Manhattan, Kansas area and offers a contract position within a school setting focused on delivering specialized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to students with special needs in an elementary school setting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with district and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet varied learning styles and abilities.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional practices.
Qualifications/Desired
Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
