St. Clare of Assisi Catholic school is seeking a part time Kindergarten through 3rd grade Catechesis of the Good Shepherd teacher who is committed to fostering a faithful Catholic formation, rooted in the strong intellectual tradition of the Church and grounded in virtue. St. Clare of Assisi is a K-8 school located in the picturesque Rocky Mountains, near Vail, Colorado. As part of the Archdiocese of Denver, we serve the community in Eagle County.

On‑staff mentorship is offered for new teachers. This teacher will be responsible for teaching Kindergarten-3rd grade Catechesis of the Good Shepherd in our school's atrium. This position may also involve sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation for 2nd and 3rd grade students.

This teacher leads and educates students in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program with fidelity to the program's methodology and Montessori principles. The position ensures that atrium spaces and materials are properly prepared, maintained, and used according to established standards, and that the environment remains prayerful, orderly, and developmentally appropriate.

The candidate must be a fully initiated Catholic in communion with the Catholic Church, intentionally living the five precepts of the Church, and conducting themselves in a manner consistent with Catholic doctrine and morals. He or she must have a desire to teach and form others in the faith. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I certification is preferred.

Effective candidates will demonstrate effective communication, sound judgment, cooperation with staff, and the ability to relate well to students and to implement effective classroom management techniques. This teacher also must have a willingness to know the school's safety procedures, willingness to implement them, and have a successful completion of a criminal background check with positive references.
