Overview
Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center, invites applications for a tenure- or clinical-track, Assistant / Associate / Full Professor position in small animal general/orthopedic surgery. Applicants will be considered for employment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor based on academic experience. The position will be part of an experienced team including surgical staffing of 5 ACVS-boarded surgeons, 4 surgical residents, and dedicated technical staff.
The successful candidate will participate in clinical service, veterinary and graduate student instruction, residency training, and support the scholarly and academic missions of the department and VHC. The percentage of time spent on service will be based on the applicant’s preferences and the needs of the service. The starting date is negotiable and professorial rank is based on academic experience and accomplishments commensurate with departmental guidelines for each rank.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Completed residency training in small animal surgery by the time of employment
- The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
