Engineering Technician

BG Consultants, Inc. is a mid-sized, full-service design firm offering architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, planning, and surveying services. With over 90 professionals and support staff across four regional offices, our firm has the in-house resources to support a wide range of project types and scales.

BG Consultants, Inc. is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician to support our Engineering team in our Manhattan, Kansas office. This position is for an entry-level candidate who is highly organized, dependable, and eager to learn. The Engineering Technician will provide technical support for a variety of civil engineering projects. On-the-job training will be provided.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or Associate's Degree (preferred)
• Entry-level position: prior experience not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Etc.)
• Working knowledge of CAD and GIS software such as, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and ArcGIS
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills
• Highly dependable, responsible, and flexible
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow
• Professional and resourceful when working with office staff and project teams

• Perform basic drafting and design tasks using CAD and/or GIS software
• Assist engineers with the preparation of plans, exhibits, and technical documents as well as occasional field work, including site visits and data collection
• Communicate effectively with project managers and office staff to meet project deadlines
• Support civil engineering projects related to water, wastewater, and transportation infrastructure
