THE MISSION The GRANTS COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST is expected to:
To develop, implement, and monitor all department and grant-specific budgets, including but not limited to Head Start, Office of Economic Opportunity grants and all other GLEAMNS programs. Ensure fiscal compliance with funding requirements, assist with payroll and procurement activities, and provide financial reporting and guidance to program staff and leadership.
A SNAPSHOT OF EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:
Collaborate with Program Directors to formulate all program and grant budgets based on specific funding source guidelines (e.g., Head Start Performance Standards); submit for review and approval by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or designee.
Monitor monthly budget performance; analyze variances and report findings to Program Directors and CFO or designee with recommendations for corrective actions.
Prepare and submit budget modifications in coordination with Program Directors to maintain compliance with grant and agency guidelines.
Support payroll processing by validating timekeeping accuracy, verifying cost allocations, and maintaining documentation per program and funding requirements.
Support our Accounts Payable and Purchasing areas by cross-training by acting as backup as needed
Assist in maintaining compliance with Head Start and other grant-specific fiscal requirements, including non-federal share documentation, in-kind tracking, and financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of grant applications and required financial reports for external auditors, funders, and agency leadership.
Provide technical guidance and training to program and administrative staff on fiscal procedures, budget management, and compliance.
Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual agency audit preparation.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the fiscal health and accountability of the agency.
