The City of Peabody is hiring for the following positions.
POSITION- Police Officer (Full-Time)
- Police Officer (Part-Time)
The City of Peabody is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Peabody is a community of approximately 1,000 residents in Marion County, located near the U.S. 50 corridor between Newton and Emporia. The Peabody Police Department is a small agency in which officers handle the full range of municipal law enforcement duties - patrol, response to calls for service, traffic enforcement, investigation of city ordinance and state law violations, report writing, and municipal court testimony - with substantial independence and direct contact with the community.
Officers work under the supervision of the Chief of Police and are subject to the personnel policies of the City of Peabody.
Starting pay: $24.00, depending on certification and experience.

Overtime is compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Kansas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- No felony convictions and no convictions that would bar certification
- Eligible for certification by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (K.S.A. 74-5601 et seq.); certified officers preferred, but the City will consider sponsoring a qualified candidate through the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center
