About This Role

Kansas State University – College of Veterinary Medicine Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center invites applications for a tenure‑ or clinical‑track faculty position in Veterinary Anesthesia at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank (rank commensurate with experience and goals). Candidates seeking scholarly careers, clinically intensive careers, or both will have the role tailored accordingly.

Responsibilities
  • Provide multi‑species clinical anesthesia.
  • Teach veterinary students, interns, residents, and graduate students.
  • Pursue scholarly activity aligned with rank or track.
  • Collaborate across perioperative, critical care, surgical, and other specialty services.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and institutional service in proportion to appointment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • DVM or equivalent degree.
    • Residency training in veterinary anesthesia (non‑boarded applicants receive eight weeks for ACVAA exam preparation).
    • Demonstrated excellence in clinical service, patient care, and clinical instruction.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Residency training in veterinary anesthesia with ACVAA board eligibility preferred.
  • Sponsorship Eligibility: Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
Worksite Description

On‑site position. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working. K‑State cannot provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of Idaho.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Extensive clinical experience in veterinary anesthesia.
  • Strong teaching ability across student and resident levels.
  • Commitment to scholarly and clinical service.
