This role is remote, allowing you to provide quality counseling services via a secure telehealth platform. Regular team meetings and case conferences facilitate ongoing communication and ensure continuity of care across our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of clients to evaluate their symptoms of eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions, informing the treatment process.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans grounded in assessment results, working collaboratively with clients to set realistic and measurable recovery goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to facilitate psychological healing and recovery.
  • Lead individual therapy sessions tailored to explore and address clients' distorted beliefs about body image, food, and self-esteem.
  • Help clients cultivate positive coping strategies, enhance emotional regulation, and devise tactical approaches to combat disordered eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and address clients' holistic needs for optimal recovery.
  • Provide education to clients and their families regarding eating disorders, improving understanding and creating supportive environments for healing.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of clients' treatment progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions while adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to refine clinical skills and stay current on best practices within the field of eating disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will involve working with clients at various stages of recovery from eating disorders. You will play a vital role in providing compassionate care tailored to those struggling with distorted body image and unhealthy eating behaviors. Your efforts in fostering positive therapeutic relationships will empower clients to take significant strides toward improved mental health and wellbeing.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
  • Possession of a current and valid license such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Kansas.
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic practices for eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • A solid foundation in understanding the complexities of eating disorders and the various co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to establish trust and rapport with clients, leading to effective therapeutic alliances.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of clinical experience in mental health counseling with a focus on eating disorders or related populations.
  • Experience working in a telehealth capacity is a plus, emphasizing adaptability and comfort with digital counseling platforms.
