- Prepare and cook menu items according to Double Tree/Hilton recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, and special events.
- Set up, stock, and maintain workstations to meet kitchen demands during service hours (line cooking, buffet preparation, banquet cooking, etc.).
- Ensure consistent food quality by checking ingredients for freshness, taste, temperature, and presentation.
- Follow Hilton, Double Tree, and local health department sanitation and food safety regulations (e.g., proper food handling, cleaning, temperature checks, and storage practices).
- Work closely with kitchen staff, servers, and management to maintain smooth service, especially during high-volume periods like conferences, weddings, or game weekends (especially important in Manhattan, KS with K-State events).
- Assist in receiving, rotating, and properly storing inventory and supplies. Help with monthly inventories when needed.
- Occasionally interact with guests (e.g., open kitchen, chef’s station events) to ensure satisfaction and accommodate special requests.
- Properly use and clean kitchen equipment, and report maintenance issues promptly to keep operations safe and efficient.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service (preferred).
- Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Ability to interact professionally with guests and address their needs.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to prepare and handle food safely.
- Willingness to work collaboratively with coworkers.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks or guest demands.
Applicants should have the flexibility to work weekends & holidays.
