Principal Marketing Scientist

Overview

GEICO is looking to hire a Principal Marketing Scientist to join the Marketing team. The role involves leading complex data analysis of large datasets and developing statistical marketing measurement methodologies to drive business decisions, identify actionable insights, and create business value through deployed solutions. This team collaborates with Marketing Partners, Technologists, and Engineers. The position also includes mentoring Marketing Scientists.

• Collaborate with teams to define metrics, formulate strategies, and develop solutions that drive business value through data and modern statistical measurement methodologies.
• Identify, extract, aggregate, and synthesize data from structured and unstructured formats using SQL or other appropriate languages to enable analysis, development, and deployment of solutions.
• Lead the analysis of large, complex datasets to identify meaningful patterns and features that lead to actionable insights and support data‑driven solutions to business problems.
• Build, test, and validate advanced measurement methodologies using Python or R, or other appropriate languages, as part of overall solution development.
• Interpret and communicate data findings and insights using visualization, formal presentations, written memos, and other appropriate formats.
• Lead the implementation of solutions into production systems and reporting platforms by guiding solution design, developing requirements, creating testing scenarios, and monitoring implementation results.
• Conduct data studies and discovery of new data sources or new uses for existing data to create business value.
• Assess long-term strategic goals and opportunities for business intelligence and automated solution development in collaboration with Business Partners, Technologists, and Engineers.
• Research and implement new methods to improve quality and efficiency of solution development and promote best practices.

• Educational background: BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Quantitative Marketing, or a related field.

• 7+ years of professional experience programming in R or Python for developing advanced analytical solutions, visualizations, reports, and presentations.
• 7+ years of professional experience using SQL in enterprise database solutions.
• 4+ years of experience in Marketing Science solutions including MMM, MTA, A/B Testing, Design of Experiments, Statistical Hypothesis Testing, Attribution, Response Modeling, Uplift Modeling, Audience List Creation/Deployment, Identity Resolution, Econometric Modeling, or other applied marketing science solutions.

• Hybrid schedule:
  Three days a week in office.
• Annual salary range: $80,000.00 – $. This range is a general guideline; final offer depends on scope and responsibilities, experience, location, and market considerations.
