About This Role
The Information Technology Support Specialist II provides IT support for research in the College of Arts and Sciences, with half of the role dedicated to the James R. Macdonald Laboratory (JRM Lab) in the Department of Physics. The JRM Lab conducts advanced atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO) physics research at Kansas State University.
This position is the primary contact for workstation support, including hardware and software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and resolution of technical issues. The role also delivers essential desktop and network support and serves as the first point of contact for technical needs in research laboratories across the college.

This position is On-site.

What You'll Need to SucceedMinimum Qualifications:
- Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and two years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any quantitative science or math discipline
- Three years IT experience. Knowledge of Windows, Mac, Linux and IOS operating systems, network connectivity/configuration to remote drives and remote access, acquisition and installation, computer hardware repair/replacement
