- National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility:
Manhattan, Kansas

Pay: $41.07/hr plus fringe benefit of $12.38/hr.

Hours: Monday to Friday – Time TBD

• Reviews job requests and work orders daily to determine workload priorities. Assigns work to staff and monitors progress toward completion.
• Manages and coordinates customers’ facility upgrades, construction, and maintenance activities in a real‑time mission‑critical environment.
• Performs corrective and preventive maintenance activities on systems to provide continuous performance of HVAC, electricity, gas, life safety, security, and other systems required for operations.
• Performs routine facility inspections for conformance with operational and safety requirements and standards.
• Performs general trades work in facility as required.
• Requisition s tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
• Keeps client and Facility Management informed of progress and status of all open work orders and projects.
• Becomes familiar with and ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.
• Interacts professionally with the public, vendors, and staff; maintains effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the site management team to effectively meet agency and GSA objectives.
• Responds to all emergencies as requested in compliance with contract requirements.
• Ensures proper documentation in NCMMS system of work performed and maintains accurate records.
• Prepares records, reports, and other documentation related to work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Must respond to after‑hours emergency calls from clients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to climb and work at heights, walking and standing for extended periods of time, lifting, bending, pushing and moving objects up to 75 pounds. Interpret and work from plans, diagrams, blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and specifications. Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of power plant equipment.

• Employees may be subject to immunization and testing requirements pursuant to Client and current Company requirements.
• Employees must meet the requirements of the federal credentialing process to access the facility, which includes but is not limited to obtaining facility access (PIV card, smart card, access card, badge) and meeting ongoing training and access requirements.
• Employees may be required to participate in the select agent program which would include additional background investigations, training, and performing work in a bio‑containment facility, as well as meeting ongoing program requirements to maintain eligibility and compliance.
