Position Summary
The Finishing Operator is responsible for final inspection of finished hose. The Operator will measure and cut hose to length per packaging spec, wind hose onto spool or coil it, and place in a box.
Essential FunctionsMinimum Requirements
- Education:
High School diploma or GED. - Experience:
Production work preferred but not required.
- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools.
- Sound decision‑making skills.
- Good math, reading, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Be able to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks.
- Lift/Carry up to 30 lbs.
- Bending, twisting, turning, reaching below knee, pushing/pulling, squatting, kneeling, standing/walking, sitting, and lifting above shoulders required for 34–100% of work time.
- No significant limitations reported.
Employee must pass pre‑employment screening.
Organizational Relationships/Scope- Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.
- High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
- Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
- Safety equipment required (steel‑toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection).
- Will stand for extended periods; walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting performed regularly.
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity.
- Ability to work overtime, including short‑notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
