Manufacturing Production, Machine Operator
The Finishing Operator is responsible for final inspection of finished hose. The Operator will measure and cut hose to the required length per packaging specification, wind hose onto spool or coil, and place in a box.
Essential Functions- Operate all Inspect and Pack lines, and applicable software, according to procedure.
- Monitor production equipment while in operation to ensure quality of product.
- Ensure that production equipment is safe and is run safely by all personnel.
- Use Pi Tapes and Plug Gauges correctly to ensure quality of product.
- Identify and eliminate known defects, and document all good and non‑conforming products.
- Ability to work overtime as required, including extended shifts and weekends, to meet business needs.
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures; eliminate unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities, and activities that present health or environmental risk. Report all safety and environmental incidents immediately.
- Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating equipment efficiently.
- Maintain production schedules.
- Participate in peer‑based teams (e.g., Natural High Performance Teams) and work with groups to initiate and implement Lean Manufacturing and 5‑S programs.

Minimum Requirements
Education – High School diploma or GED.
Experience – Production work preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications- Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools.
- Sound decision‑making skills.
- Good math, reading, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to exercise continuous mental, visual, and audio attention.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes and take appropriate action.
- Vision:
Near acuity and accommodation for reading information required to perform job tasks. - Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail.

- Lift/Carry up to 10 lbs
Frequent (34‑66%) tasks:
- Lift/Carry 11‑30 lbs
- Bending, Twist/Turn, Reach Below Knee, Push/Pull, Squat/Kneel, Stand/Walk, Sit
Continuous (67‑100%) tasks:
- Lifting Above Shoulders
Employee must pass pre‑employment screening.
Organizational Relationships / Scope- Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader.
- Work closely with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues.
- High noise levels from operating machines and equipment.
- Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels.
- Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel‑toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection).
- Standing is required for extended periods. Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting are performed regularly.
- Requires high degree of manual dexterity which may be performed under restrictive conditions.
- Ability to work overtime, including short‑notice overtime and weekend coverage to meet business needs.
