Job Objective
Responsible for emergency assistance casework, food pantry, assisting in fund-raising and seasonal programs.
Essential Functions- Set appointments with clients as needed
- Handle all incoming and outgoing mail
- Answer phone, talk with clients, donors and general public in person
- Interview clients and cover intakes on all assistance request following the guidelines
- Assist with community food drives
- Create and maintain all client files while adhering to confidentiality standards
- Track referrals to other agencies
- Complete monthly statistical report and submit by the first of each month
- Manage the food pantry
- Manage the school supply program
- Other duties as assigned by County Coordinator and North KS Field Representative
- Education:
Minimum high school education, some post-secondary education preferred - Experience:
Business/office work, volunteer organization and supervision, casework preferred - Certifications/Licenses:
None
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and employee manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and paperwork
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and employees in one-on-one and small group settings
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish and English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with others
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in basic units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Assist overseeing and directing community volunteers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Salvation Army policies and applicable laws.
Physical RequirementsInclude speaking, hearing, vision; sitting, walking, standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis; grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 50 lbs.; traveling by airplane; both outdoor and indoor navigation of settings. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.

DrivingDriving is required; employee must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working ConditionsDaily work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work. Event work may include indoor/outdoor locations and other public venues.
