About This Role
The purpose of this position is to support and lead research focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying attenuation of genetically recoded RNA viruses and to advance the development of safe and effective live-attenuated vaccine platforms for livestock pathogens. The successful candidate will investigate host-virus interactions, viral protein biosynthesis, and species-specific responses to codon-deoptimized viral constructs using molecular virology, cell culture, and surrogate virus systems.

What You'll Need to SucceedMinimum Qualifications:
- Requires a PhD. The degree requirement is necessary to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in virology, microbiology or a related discipline
- Strong data entry, time management and organizational skills
- Experience in cell/virus culture
- Experience with picornaviruses
- Experience in rational vaccine design
