About This Role
Food Service Workers are part of a team who make great food and service happen in a large residence hall dining center by providing quality food and service to fun and appreciative students and guests. The 40 hours per week work schedule offers a generous benefits package. The work schedule includes one Saturday or Sunday (one day) every other weekend. A day off will be scheduled either before or after the weekend day.
Early and late shifts are available.
Duties may include:
- Preparing basic entrees and side dishes using standardized recipes and procedures.
- Setting-up and preparing service platforms, salad bar, fruit/dessert area, and dining room areas for service of food.
- Providing for customer needs during meal service.
- Participating in daily meetings and effectively interacting with others.
- Operating, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment in ware washing area and dish return belts. Cleaning and sanitizing all tableware trays, utensils, pots, pans.
- Cleaning dining facility.
- Laundering, folding, and storing linens.
- May provide training and guidance to hourly student employees.

What You’ll Need to SucceedPreferred Qualifications:
- Some knowledge of large scale food preparation, equipment, health sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to interact with others effectively, harmoniously, and in a courteous, pleasant manner.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to learn to perform basic math computations; to accurately weigh and measure ingredients.
- Ability to use and care for equipment and handle food safely while preparing high quality products.
- Commitment to providing high quality services and products.
Additional Role Information:
- Completion of Food Service Training within 6 months of employment.
- Work regularly requires moderate physical exertion to transport heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) repetitively.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
