Join GDIT as a Lead Journeyman Electrician supporting our Base Infrastructure Modernization program.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute electrical installations for new construction projects.
  • Communicate with site and team leads to maximize production.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of existing electrical systems.
  • Support contract and in-house crews in multiple work locations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and components, including conduit, wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, ground systems and other electrical equipment.
  • Conduct resistance testing and documentation of existing ground systems.
  • Conduct power panel load testing and document results.
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders and provide updates focused on electrical job performance and needs.
  • Act as a lead-mentor and supervise apprentice electricians, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare and submit daily work reports detailing completions, materials and delays.
  • Track used and needed material supporting site needs accurately.
Qualifications
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Minimum of 4‑5+ years of experience as a Lead Journeyman Electrician in DoW/DoD background.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a leadership capacity.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Secret clearance or the ability to obtain secret level clearance.
  • US citizenship required.
Working Conditions
  • Work may be indoors or outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Requires 80% to 100% travel to various Air Force Bases for testing and installation support.
  • May require lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Position requires travel CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment (as a lead).
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
