Locate Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Locate Technician to join our team in Osage, KS. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret utility maps, blueprints, and other documentation to accurately identify utility locations.
• Communicate with contractors, excavators, and utility companies to coordinate safe digging practices.
• Document and report locate activities and any discrepancies or hazards encountered on site.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to utility locating and excavation.
• Maintain and calibrate locating equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within established time frames.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of underground utility systems and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, and lifting.

This position involves working outdoors on construction sites and other locations where underground utilities are present. The role requires adherence to safety standards and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
