Commercial Truck and Agricultural Tire TechnicianThe ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tires on medium‑duty trucks, buses, tractor‑trailers, and agricultural equipment. Technical knowledge of tire mounting and balancing equipment, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment are required.
Key Responsibilities- Install new tires on commercial vehicles including medium‑duty trucks, buses, tractor‑trailers, and agricultural equipment (e.g., tractors, combines, and other farm equipment).
- Dismount and mount tires using appropriate tools and equipment, including large and off‑road/ag tires.
- Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation, including specialized checks for agricultural use.
- Perform wet and dry services.
- Provide brakes, steering, and suspension services.
- Perform tire repairs such as patching, plugging, section repairs, or replacing valve stems.
- Balance tires and wheels using computerized or manual balancing equipment, where applicable.
- Maintain accurate records of tire installations and repairs, including service to agricultural vehicles.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Operate service trucks for on‑site installations or emergency road service, including in‑field agricultural service calls.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and tools.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members, providing professional service in both commercial and agricultural environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year of experience installing commercial truck and/or agricultural tires preferred.
- Knowledge of tire types, sizes, and applications for commercial and farm vehicles.
- Ability to lift 100+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with tire mounting/balancing machines, torque wrenches, air tools, and service trucks.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or after‑hours service calls if required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Work is performed in a shop setting and occasionally in the field.
- Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions.
- Agricultural field service may involve uneven terrain and extended time outdoors.
