Senior Software Engineer – C#, SQL, Azure

• Design, develop, and maintain software components and products supporting H&R Block business applications
• Modernize software architecture and transform technology
• Serve as the lead for day-to-day functional team tasks, developer support, and maintaining the development environment
• Use tools, languages, coding standards, and best practices to develop product features and maintain functionality and enhancements
• Create and execute unit tests and address defects
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, User Experience, and related teams on requirements and approach
• Assist in planning and implementing strategic product direction
• Identify product design features supporting scalability, usability, and performance
• Drive technical design and code reviews for development enhancements and maintenance work
• Interpret complex business and functional requirements and produce technical specifications and product requirements
• Mentor and coach team members on technological advances and consistent best practices

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
• At least 5 years of experience in building web-based applications using Microsoft technology stack
• Expert/strong experience (3 years) in developing applications with Microsoft Azure cloud
• Expert/strong experience (3 years) in developing web-based interfaces using HTML and Java Script Library
• Expert (3 years) in developing MS SQL based applications and C#
• Experience in building applications using Angular
• Knowledge in building environments using TFE
• Experience with scrum methodology
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Experience with Azure Dev Ops platform or Github for source code, boards and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Demonstrates expertise in developing and maintaining web-based applications using the Microsoft technology stack, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure, C#, and SQL. Proven ability to lead teams, mentor developers, and collaborate effectively across functional areas to drive product enhancements and strategic direction.
