Laser Weld Engineer | Manistee, MI
Salary Range: $82,000 - $122,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize laser welding processes for new and existing products.
- Design and implement laser weld tooling and fixtures.
- Troubleshoot laser welding equipment and process issues.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability.
- Conduct material characterization and failure analysis related to laser welds.
- Establish and maintain welding specifications and quality control procedures.
- Provide technical training and support to production personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in laser welding processes, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of laser welding equipment, principles, and metallurgy.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and welding symbols.
- Experience with process development, optimization, and troubleshooting of laser welding applications.
- Experience with robotic automation and programming (e.g., ABB, Fanuc).
- Knowledge of metallography and material characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD).
